In this moment of uncertainty and fear, BCNH is calling on every NH resident to stand up for our refugee neighbors. To meet the rising need, BCNH is building a volunteer program that provides opportunities to lend your voice, time, and talent in a way that fits with your interests and schedule. Direct service volunteering

Plan/host a special event (baby showers, holiday parties, field trips)
Join the annual fundraising event committee (Event is in the Spring, committee meetings begin in the Fall)
Advocacy
Help BCNH track legislation and draft advocacy alerts to ask our community to take quick action to support or oppose bills affecting the refugee community
Open doors for BCNH to speak about our work in communities across NH - organize speaking engagements at schools, churches, civic groups, neighborhood events. If public speaking is your passion - we can train you to present as well!

BCNH’s volunteer needs can include things like transportation, English tutoring, and other practical support that helps newcomers navigate everyday life.

No. Speaking another language can be helpful, but it is not the only way to make a difference. Many volunteer roles rely on consistency, kindness, and a willingness to help.

Yes. Community groups and businesses that want to support BCNH’s mission are encouraged to reach out and explore how they can help.

All volunteers working directly with clients will need to meet 1:1 with a BCNH staff member, submit an application, and consent to a criminal background check. Volunteers who plan to offer rides to BCNH clients must also provide a copy of their driver’s license and proof of insurance.
