In this moment of uncertainty and fear, BCNH is calling on every NH resident to stand up for our refugee neighbors. To meet the rising need, BCNH is building a volunteer program that provides opportunities to lend your voice, time, and talent in a way that fits with your interests and schedule.

    • Help BCNH track legislation and draft advocacy alerts to ask our community to take quick action to support or oppose bills affecting the refugee community

    • Open doors for BCNH to speak about our work in communities across NH - organize speaking engagements at schools, churches, civic groups, neighborhood events. If public speaking is your passion - we can train you to present as well! 

    • Be a social media ambassador - like, comment, share and boost our posts

  • BCNH’s volunteer needs can include things like transportation, English tutoring, and other practical support that helps newcomers navigate everyday life.

  • No. Speaking another language can be helpful, but it is not the only way to make a difference. Many volunteer roles rely on consistency, kindness, and a willingness to help

  • Yes. Community groups and businesses that want to support BCNH’s mission are encouraged to reach out and explore how they can help.

  • All volunteers working directly with clients will need to meet 1:1 with a BCNH staff member, submit an application, and consent to a criminal background check. Volunteers who plan to offer rides to BCNH clients must also provide a copy of their driver’s license and proof of insurance.
