Funding: This position is funded through April 30, 2027. Continuation depends on future funding.
About BCNH
Building Community in New Hampshire (BCNH) is a nonprofit in Manchester, NH. We help refugees and immigrants build safe, healthy, and successful lives in New Hampshire. Our case managers help people learn English, find jobs, get health care, find housing, and take care of their families. Most of our staff come from the same countries and communities as the people we work with.
About This Job
We are hiring a Workforce and Education Program Manager. This is a new position, funded by a new grant to grow our jobs program.
This is a senior role. You will lead our workforce development work. You will build strong relationships with local employers, schools, and industry partners. You will work closely with our case managers to help clients move into good jobs, training, and long-term careers.
You will be responsible for the results of this program. BCNH leaders will support you, but you will set your own priorities, manage your own time, and lead the work without close day-to-day supervision. You will need to meet clear goals including new job placements, new employer partnerships, and industry events during the grant period.
We hope to hire someone who is a refugee, immigrant, or New American with strong workforce development experience. If you have lived this experience yourself, you already understand what our clients face. Combined with real workforce experience, that is what this job needs.
About funding
This position is funded by a grant through April 30, 2027. BCNH has other grant applications in progress and is planning to make this a permanent position. The role will continue past April 2027 only if funding is secured. We want to be honest about this from the start.
What You Will Do
Work with employers
• Lead outreach to local employers to learn what workers they need.
• Visit workplaces so you can see the jobs up close.
• Build and manage trusted working relationships with employers who want to hire our clients.
• Help employers hire small groups of BCNH clients together. This is called cohort hiring. It helps people feel less alone at work and stay in their jobs.
Work with schools and training programs
• Build and manage relationships with community colleges, training programs, and other schools.
• Work with BCNH case managers to help clients find training programs that match their goals.
Work with clients and our team
• Work closely with BCNH case managers.
• Match clients to the right job or training program.
• Support clients after they start a new job.
Plan events
• Design and lead job fairs and career events.
• Invite employers to speak with our clients about their work.
• Invite other refugee and immigrant organizations to these events too.
Track your work
• Build and maintain clear records of the employers, schools, and clients you work with.
• Report on your progress to BCNH leaders and to the grant funder.
Grow BCNH’s connections in the biofabrication industry
Biofabrication is a growing industry in Manchester. BCNH is a member of the ReGen Valley Consortium and works with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI). You will use these partnerships to build a new job pathway for our clients in this growing field.
Who We Are Looking For
Required
• Three to five years of professional experience in workforce development. This means paid work helping people find jobs, running a job training program, career counseling, building employer partnerships, or leading sector-based hiring. You know how workforce development works.
• The ability to lead this program on your own. You can set your own priorities, manage your own time, and meet the goals of the grant without being told each step. You are comfortable being responsible for results.
• Strong relationship-building skills. You can build trust with employers, schools, community partners, and clients.
• Strong organizational skills. You can manage many tasks and many partners at the same time. You track your work clearly and reliably.
• Good written and spoken English. You will be talking with employers, writing reports, and representing BCNH in professional settings.
• Comfortable with digital tools — email, spreadsheets, and CRM tracking systems.
• Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to meet employers and partners across Greater Manchester.
• Deep respect for the refugees and immigrants BCNH serves.
Helpful but not required
• You are a refugee, immigrant, or New American yourself.
• You speak a second language.
• You have experience with grant reporting or federal grant rules.
• You have knowledge of the biofabrication industry or other growing industries in New Hampshire.
• You have experience with cohort hiring, apprenticeship programs, or sector partnerships.
A college degree is helpful but not required. We care most about your workforce development experience and your ability to deliver results.
